Authentication

To use the Stream2Vault (S2V) client, you need to authenticate with the S2V service. This process involves using an identity that is part of your organization and has been configured for cross-tenant access with the Stream2Vault authentication service.

Setting Up Authentication

  1. Administrator Configuration: Your organization's administrator will set up the necessary cross-tenancy trust configuration with the Stream2Vault service.
  2. Receive Authentication File: Once the cross-tenancy trust is established by your administrator, the Stream2Vault team will provide you with an authentication configuration file (e.g., my_auth_config.json). This file contains the necessary details for the S2V client to interact with your organization's identity provider and the S2V service.
  3. Save the File: Save this file securely within a known location that you can easily reference.

Logging In

To log into the S2V service, use the s2v login command and provide the path to your authentication configuration file:

s2v login -c my_auth_config.json

Running the above command will open up a browser prompting you to select an appropriate account for the login. Once authenticated you can close the browser.

warning

Please make sure to use a correct login account associated with the configuration file.

E.g. when issued an authentification json for the organization reeeliance while selecting on the login a different organization, any subsequent validations and generations will fail.

Please logout/login and choose a matching authentification

s2v login -c my_auth_config.json
